I was asked to do makeup and hair for a test shoot for an upcoming Australian feature film. The production company’s manager has been facebook-friends with me and has given me several job opportunities over the past few years but it was the first time we met in person! She is such a bubbly girl and has a cool name too – Feryx! Character in play is Melissa McBride.

My work sprawled across the front page of a website is such a nice thing to see, especially when I wasn’t looking for anything in particular! I did makeup & hair for this shoot last year for Pretty In White (Malaysia) Here is the front page.

I apologise for the lack of posting – I have been swamped with Weddings every single weekend since the end of August! I wish I remembered to take photos at all the wedding jobs I have been to in the past couple of months! Anyhow, here is a few! Kim and Justin’s wedding at Blue’s Point. I had done Kim’s hair and makeup a while back when she was updating her modelling portfolio and here she is getting married! ——————————————————————————————————————— Adeline’s wedding with bridesmaid Kate Adeline came all the way from the UK to get married here and her bridesmaid Kate was one of the most helpful ones I have ever met! ———————————————————————————————————————— Pamela’s Wedding at the Quay Grand with her three very cute flower girls I didn’t know who the bride was until I went into the hotel as I was booked through someone else. The bride and groom happened to be in the same pre-wedding course as my fiance and I. What a coincidence and lovely surprise! They were married by the same Reverend and same church as I am going to – St Thomas’ Anglican North Sydney. ——————————————————————————————————————————– Kim & Adrian’s wedding Oh another couple married at St Thomas’s Anglican North Sydney! It’s a beautiful church! ——————————————————————————————————————————— Elita’s wedding a the Westin Hotel – the three lovely bridesmaids I have worked with one of the bridesmaids (far right) back when I was a counter manager for a skincare company 5 years ago! It was uncanny because she use to be at a makeup counter and I at a skincare one, but here I am several years later, applying makeup on her! I was pleasantly surprised to find an invitation to the screening of “North by Northwest”. I had worked on this documentary with director Rob Schreiber and his crew earlier this year. I did makeup & hair for the presenter – Gyton Grantley (Carl Williams from Underbelly). To re-cap your memory, please read the blog here. News of this documentary has made it into eGlobal Travel Media . The film tells of how the Darwin Dili Yacht Rally was put on hold when Indonesia invaded the newly independent East Timor. The vision of this film is to show that East Timor is still a great place for foreigners to go and enjoy the natural landscapes. I can’t wait to go to the screening because it is always exciting to see what my work is like on the big screen! (And more importantly – I get to see Gyton Grantley again!!!) Here’s Rob Schreiber taking charge of the camera. Bare Natural Skinby Roxy on September 5, 2011 | Subscribe | Back to Top |
I enjoyed my weekend off up at the Hunter Valley & discovered a cute little cottage that sells natural olive oil soaps, body scrubs, moisturisers and bath soaks. I tried a body scrub which contained sandalwood, mandarin & sugar. The lingering scent of the scrub, took me to an exotic place, like I was in Thailand. Absolutely gorgeous! I purchased one of the soaps which contained fragments of walnut shells & seeds so when you wash with it, you gently scrub off all your dead skin (which have accumulated from the dry winter season) and at the same time moisturises your skin with olive & coconut oil. To top it all off – the prices were very reasonable! Next time I go up to the Hunter, I will definitely be stocking up with more than just a bar of soap! From top left to bottom: Exfoliating Lavender, Rose & Calendula Soap, a wall of un-cut soap, signage of the place, the area where these scrumptous products are made with bottles of natural ingredients. The address of Bare|Nature’s Skin Care is at 67 Wollombi St Broke, NSW 2330. Be sure not to miss it!!
